Croata is a long-standing supporter and partner of Academia Cravatica, dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting the cravat as an authentic part of Croatian and world cultural heritage.

Selected programmes and projects are of particular importance for positioning Croatia as the homeland of the cravat, promoting its values, and preserving the cultural and historical heritage associated with it.
The Cravat Regiment programme is carried out in cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board and has become a distinctive part of the city’s cultural and tourist identity.
Through historical uniforms, an honour guard and the recognisable red neckcloths – cravats – the Cravat Regiment brings to life the tradition of Croatian soldiers of the 17th century and the story of the cravat’s origins.
Academia Cravatica continuously marks 18 October – Cravat Day – as a celebration of the cravat as part of Croatian and world cultural heritage and of the values it represents.
In 2008, the Croatian Parliament unanimously proclaimed 18 October Cravat Day in the Republic of Croatia. Its observance is also realised through cooperation with the Croatian Parliament.
Over the years, Cravat Day has been marked through ceremonial programmes, artistic interventions, lectures, exhibitions and other cultural events.
Academia Cravatica develops exhibition, artistic and cultural projects that explore and present the history, symbolism and contemporary meaning of the cravat.
These projects are realised in cooperation with a range of cultural, diplomatic and public institutions in Croatia and abroad, connecting the story of the cravat with different places, cultures and audiences.
