The opening night of the play The first tie was on 12th November 2005 in Oktogon in Zagreb. The historical framework of the play is the Thirty Years War (1618-1648). The play is about a young Croatian soldier Ivan who is on the battlefield. The centre of the play’s dancing sequences is a scarf, a symbol of love and fidelity for Ivan and his girlfriend Marica. The first tie is a story about the power of love and faith that overcomes everything.
