The example of Raymond J. Brassard, a judge from Massachusetts, shows how much certain people appreciate the cravat even if they do not belong to the textile or the fashion industry. This judge is famous because of his demand for members of the jury to wear a cravat because they sometimes came to court in casual clothes. Judge Brassard starts his cases with these words: “Carefully listen to the testimonies. Do not discuss the case outside the courtroom. Please, wear a cravat.”
