Mr. Doug Cook, Portland, Maine, has come up with a great idea while moving. When he was cleaning up his wardrobe, he has realised he had many beautiful cravats. Having in mind that cravats are very effective, he had made a very interesting cravat quilt which he has donated to the American Family Crisis Services. The media has also recognised this warm human story, which rarely happens nowadays. WMTW.com.(2006.)
A great idea for a good cause. That is a short description of a humanitarian action in Tulane, a town in the south of The USA. Bettina Beach, a former advisor in a cancer research institute, came up with a great idea on how to increase awareness about the widely spread prostate cancer issue using the cravat as a fashion detail which symbolises men the most. She artistically and symbolically connected the cravat with the illness to which men usually do not pay much attention. The cravat is green-blue and the one wearing it points out the problem of this serious illness.
